Debut of VinFast Fadil organized in the central park of the capital of Vietnam.
In early October, a young automaker from Vietnam, VinFast, showed its first models, based on BMW, to visitors at the Paris auto show. The brand brought conceptual versions of the mid-sized Lux A2.0 sedan and Lux SA2.0 crossover to the French capital. It is planned that the serial production of these models will not begin until next fall. However, the role of the flagship in the model range of the brand is being tipped to another car – the Fadil hatchback, which was recently presented.
The model shown in the central park of Hanoi, in fact, is a copy of the “off-road” version of the urban hatchback Opel Karl. Recall that this summer the Vietnamese brand signed an agreement with General Motors. This concern in due time had a hand in the development of Opel Karl.
The exterior of the novelty differs from the “donor” model with the logo and the new grille. Here we see, as is the case with the concept cars debuted in Paris, the chrome letter “V” framed by two lines resembling gull wings. But its technical “stuffing” Fadil is obliged to another model – the compact five-door hatch Chevrolet Spark. Inherited from him VinFast Fadil received a 98-horsepower 1.4-liter engine, combined with a CVT.
Already in the basic version, customers will be offered two airbags, air conditioning, and parking sensors. In a more advanced configuration, the number of pillows will increase to six, and the list of optional equipment will be updated with climate control, modern multimedia and a rear-view camera. Fadil will be released in the series at the beginning of next year. The minimum price tag for a new hatch starts from $ 18,000
Meanwhile, Perodua from Malaysia showed the X-Concept show car at the Kuala Lumpur Auto Show that opened.
