Like many other brands, SEAT has partially abandoned its sporting ambitions in favor of the crossover segment. And earlier this week we wrote about the presentation of the new seven-seat crossover Seat Tarraco, but how would it look in the version of Cupra R?

The company SEAT has already presented Cupra Ateca – a “charged” version of the model, which will go on sale soon. Therefore, it will not be surprising if the brand decides to release a sports version of the seven-seat crossover Seat Tarraco Cupra R.

But it is worth recalling that Cupra is now not a line of models within the company SEAT, but a completely independent brand, although belonging to SEAT. Cars under this logo have completely their identity, and promised to introduce a new crossover in 2020. Therefore, many are confident that the charged Tarraco will still appear.

Returning to the presented render from the independent designer from X-Tomi Design, constantly pleasing us with their works, you can see the obvious features from Cupra. The crossover got a new front bumper with huge air intakes and a revised radiator grille. The new aerodynamic parts are made of carbon fiber, and additional copper accents in the corporate style touched not only the details of the body, but branded 20-inch disks.

Unfortunately, while there is no information about the company’s intention to build such a crossover, but if it becomes possible, what kind of motor can be used?

We can assume three different options. The first will be a two-liter bi-turbo diesel with a power of 240 horsepower, which is installed on the crossover Kodiaq RS, very similar to the Tarraco in the technical part.

The second option can be a gasoline turbo with a working capacity of 2.0 liters, capable of developing up to 310 horses, and successfully proved itself on the Leon Cupra R. Also a seven-seat crossover would come from a motor from Audi RS3, which can migrate to Tiguan R already in the very near time.

All this is only a guess, and whether it will be realized in life is still unknown.

It is also known that the new Spanish crossover Seat Tarraco will be offered with 4 variants of the power unit. It is noteworthy that with time, their choice will be expanded.
