Well, well, well, what do we have here? It seems Peugeot has finally jumped on the electric bandwagon with the new e-308. Now, I’ll be honest, I’ve always had a soft spot for Peugeot. They’ve brought us some iconic cars over the years, so I was eager to see what they had in store with their first electric offering in the form of the e-308.
First things first, let’s talk about the design. The e-308 looks exactly like its petrol and diesel counterparts, and that’s a good thing. It’s sleek, modern, and certainly easy on the eyes. The interior is equally impressive, with a clean and uncluttered layout, and a high-quality feel throughout. It’s clear that Peugeot hasn’t cut any corners in the design department.
But what about the performance? Well, I’m pleased to report that the e-308 doesn’t disappoint. With a 50kWh battery, it offers a range of around 225 miles on a single charge – not bad at all. And when it comes to acceleration, the e-308 is no slouch either. It can go from 0 to 60mph in just under 8 seconds, which is more than respectable for a family hatchback.
One thing that really impressed me about the e-308 is its handling. Thanks to the placement of the battery under the floor, it has a low center of gravity, which gives it a sporty and agile feel on the road. It’s a fun car to drive, and that’s not something you can say about every electric vehicle out there.
Of course, no car is perfect, and the e-308 does have a few downsides. The main issue is the price, which is on the steep side compared to some of its rivals. And while the range is decent, it’s not quite class-leading. But these are minor gripes in the grand scheme of things.
Overall, I have to say that I’m impressed with what Peugeot has achieved with the e-308. It’s a stylish, practical, and enjoyable electric car that should appeal to a wide range of drivers. If you’re in the market for an electric hatchback, the e-308 is definitely worth a look. Well done, Peugeot. Keep up the good work.
