French startup Lesage Motors said it intends to release a limited series of compact outdoor sports cars with both gasoline and electric motors, Petrolicious informs.

According to the manufacturer, the engineers are inspired by small open cars from the beginning of the twentieth century with power units from bikes. But in type, design and general ideology, the novelty resembles the British Caterham Seven roadster in its standard versions.

Both variations will acquire units from Peugeot 208. In the case of the electric car, referred to as 1E, this is the Peugeot e-208. From it, a car will borrow a battery of 50 kW / h, and another 136-horsepower electric motor. Declared autonomy will be 340 km.

The main advantage of 01E will be a low weight – only 950 kg. There is no information on dynamic indicators, however, at the same time, the car promises to be quite dynamic. The gasoline variant will be even lighter – only 650 kg. It will be equipped with a 1.2-liter turbo engine from the same Peugeot with a capacity of 155 hp.

Both cars will be assembled by hand with a circulation of only 50 units each. According to the manufacturer, each instance will receive an exclusive shade and acquire unique decoration materials.

Roadsters 01 will begin shipping next year. Since 2023, the company plans to focus on the next model, which will receive an index of 02.

In addition, most recently the Peugeot 308 got a pretty minor update. In this case, already in 2021, the model should receive full-scale restyling.
