The Chinese company Haval has presented a new compact crossover called Haval Chulian at home.

Note that this year the company began to give full names to new models instead of short indices, at least on the domestic market. So, the name Chulian for the new crossover is translated from Chinese as “first love”.

The debut of new items in pre-production form took place in the fall of this year as part of a motor show in Beijing. The model is based on the L.E.M.O.N.modular chassis, which already underlies models such as the Haval DaGou and H6. At the same time, the height decreased by 76 mm – to 1619 mm.

The Haval Chulian interior has received the minimum number of physical switches. Inside, the widescreen touchscreen of the multimedia system with a screen diagonal of 10.25 or 12.3 inches, depending on the configuration, catches the eye. The gear lever has been replaced with a washer. Also, the new product will get an electronic dashboard, several options for two-tone interior trim and a DMS camera that will track driver fatigue.

The model will be driven by a 1.5-liter petrol engine, the output of which is 150 hp. power and 220 Nm of torque. Paired with the power unit is a 7-speed robotized transmission with two clutches and exclusively front-wheel drive. Later, other versions of the crossover should appear.
