Gerhard Berger calls Vettel in the DTM

Gerhard Berger was a co-owner of the Toro Rosso team when Sebastian Vettel won his first career victory. The Austrian, who now runs the DTM, invites the four-time world champion in the body series if he fails to sign a contract with Mercedes in Formula 1.

Gerhard Berger: “Sebastian has only one option – DTM! No, but why not consider this possibility? He is still piloting at the highest level, so he will be competitive and will be able to fight with other excellent racers behind the wheel of a car that he likes.

In Formula 1, Sebastian has no serious alternative to Ferrari. He wants to speak for a leading team, theoretical opportunities for this are only in Mercedes. But I’m afraid that in this team all the places are occupied. ”

Speaking about Vettel’s upcoming breakup with Ferrari, Berger said: “It was clear that this would happen. Vettel should not blame himself. He will join a large family of riders who could not return Ferrari to the victorious path. Among them is me. Only Nicky Lauda and Michael Schumacher did it. ”
