The company Brilliance brought to the home market a new flagship all-terrain vehicle. The model is available with a five- or seven-seater saloon.
Photos of the novelties were shared by the Chinese edition of Autohome. The V7 SUV is built on a new front-wheel-drive platform M8X, which, according to Brilliance, was developed in conjunction with BMW. Recall, the Chinese company has long been cooperating with a German firm – in China they have a Joint Venture, which produces BMW cars for the local market. Apparently, that’s why the Germans do not complain that some Brilliance models look like premium-brand cars.
The new crossover design is original, except that it still looks a little like the BMW X3. By the way, in terms of its dimensions Brilliance V7 is close to the X3: the length of the Chinese car is 4,702 mm, the width is 1,932 mm, the height is 1,753 mm (dimensions of the BMW X3: 4,717/1 891/1 689 mm) . But the wheelbase of the V7 is still less – 2,770 mm against 2,864 mm from the German. The new Brilliance is available in five- and seven-seater versions.
Under the hood of the Brilliance V7, a petrol turbo four of the BMW N18 Prince series of 1.6 liters with 204 hp is installed. (280 Nm). The engine is combined with a six-speed manual and a seven-speed robotic transmission Getrag with two clutches. The drive, like the rest of the Brilliance’s SUV, is exclusively front.
For V7, there are two-zone climate control, a multimedia system with a vertical touchscreen, cruise control, seat heating, a projection display, a panoramic roof, a camera, a system for automatic emergency braking and monitoring of blind areas.
Crossover prices range from 108,700 to 194,700 yuan: the V7 is the most expensive model of Brilliance. True, we are talking about cars with ICE – in the line of the brand there is still an electric sedan H230, which costs from 169,800 yuan
By the way, the crossover BMW X3 in China will cost a minimum of 399,800 yuan. Nevertheless, the Bavarian brand cars are much more popular than the cars of the local company: in 2017, the total sales of all BMW models in China amounted to 384,849 units, and Brilliance sold 101,317 cars.
To deliver for export V7 yet do not plan.
