Published the first official photos of the future coupe
Maserati has released the first official photos of the MC20 mid-engined supercar. The model was declassified the day before the premiere.
The new flagship model will be the successor to the MC12 supercar, which the company produced from 2004 to 2005. The body of the new Maserati MC20 is made of aluminum and composite materials, thanks to which the engineers managed to reduce the mass of the mid-engined coupe to 1,470 kilograms.
One of the distinctive features of the new supercar are the doors – “butterfly wings”. The interior of the MC20 is made of carbon fiber and Alcantara. In the cabin of the model, a digital dashboard and a central multimedia control monitor were placed. In addition, the coupe was equipped with a push-button transmission control system, as well as a washer on the central tunnel, designed to select driving modes.
Under the hood of the MC20, engineers have placed a three-liter turbocharged V6 with 630 horsepower (730 Nm). The supercar unit is paired with an eight-speed robotized transmission. The coupe accelerates to a 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, and the MC20 overcomes the 200 kilometers per hour mark in eight seconds. The maximum speed is 325 kilometers per hour.
In addition, the flagship supercar will be available with an electric powertrain, which will allow the MC20 to accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 2.8 seconds. In this case, the range of the coupe on a single charge will be at least 380 kilometers.
The official premiere of the Maserati MC20 will take place on September 9th.
At the end of May, the Maserati MC20 supercar, hidden in camouflage, was road tested in Sicily. During the races, the manufacturer collected the latest data necessary for the final tuning of the car.
