At the Worthersee festival in Austria, the “civilian” version of the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR will debut, which will be equipped with a 290-horsepower engine
The company Volkswagen has published teasers of the “civil” version of the racing hatchback Golf GTI TCR, which will be allowed to ride on public roads. The premiere of the car will take place on May, 9th at festival Worthersee in Austria.
Judging by the images, the novelty will receive special rims, twin exhaust pipes, as well as a large rear diffuser.
Road modification Volkswagen Golf TCR will be equipped with a two-liter petrol supercharged engine, developing 290 hp and 370 Nm of torque. The engine will be combined with a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. Let’s remind, the motor of racing Golf TCR develops 350 forces and 420 Nanometers.
The maximum speed of the charged hatchback will be artificially limited to 250 km / h, but the customer will be able to ask the automaker to remove the electronic limiter and in this case the maximum will rise to 264 km per hour.
Serial production of new items will begin at the end of this year. The cost of the hot-hatch is not yet called.
