The company Toyota introduced in the domestic Japanese market rear-wheel drive coupe GT86 in the version of GR Sport. This is the most modest option in the line of charged cars with the GR index.
The Toyota GT86 GR Sport coupe received Brembo brakes (four-piston front and two-piston rear brakes), 17-inch wheels, an aggressive front bumper with small side spoilers.
Inside is a three-spoke steering wheel with the GR logo and a dashboard with a white tachometer background. The engine is completely standard: a two-liter opposition engine develops 207 hp on machines with a manual gearbox and 200 – with an automatic transmission.
Buyers can supplement their coupe with tuning parts that are sold under the brand name GR Parts: for example, a developed splitter under the front bumper or a spoiler on the trunk lid (the car in the photo is equipped with all available components). In the catalog of GR Parts there is even a recorder Toyota Gazoo Racing Recorder, which allows you to record and analyze your aerobatics data on track-days.
The new version of Toyota GT86 GR Sport is a product of a new market strategy, implying the creation of a whole gamut of machines of different levels of preparation under the subbrand GR (Gazoo Racing).
Machines with the designation GR Sport – younger: they receive mostly cosmetic changes in the sports spirit. Cars with the GR prefix are more serious: they have modified suspension and modified electronics calibrations. And the most heaped up cars will receive a prefix GRMN (Gazoo Racing Masters of Nürburgring).
Toyota GT86 GR Sport is in Japan 3 780 000 yen. The older GR models are more expensive. A coupe GT86 GRMN, released three years ago in a limited edition, was estimated at 6,480,000 yen.
