In fact, the high-performance version of the American coupe Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is very similar to the incredibly powerful version of the Demon. Under the hood, of course, there is a not so powerful power unit – a 6.0-liter power-assisted supercharging unit V8, with a capacity of 797 hp.
The American Dodge brand succeeded in what is called “breathing in” a new life in the Challenger coupe of the current generation, which was introduced back in 2008 as a model of 2009. I must say that since then in this car has changed quite a lot.
Over the past years, Dodge engineers have continued to improve the coupe – its appearance and specifications have improved. Last year, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was introduced – the most powerful version of this car, under the hood of which is an 840-horsepower engine. Now the same guys decided to submit another version of their coupe – this time, the car received the name Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye.
According to representatives of the automaker, the novelty combines the best features of the versions of Hellcat and Demon. It is reported that the mass production of Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye has already started – the cars will be assembled at the assembly lines of the company’s plant in Ontario (Canada).
The new performance of Redeye boasts more power than the one that the standard Hellcat can offer, but the Demon is clearly far away from the Demon level. This is a powerful 6.0-liter power-assisted supercharged unit V8, which produces 797 horsepower (the “ceiling” of the smoking moment is 958 Nm). It is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. From 0 to 100 km / h the new model can accelerate in 3.5 seconds, the maximum possible speed will leave 326 km / h.
In addition, the performance of Hellcat Redeye has received new nameplates – the Hellcat badge now has red eyes. The emblem is everywhere – on the false radiator grille, on the dashboard, on the keychain. Inside the dodge is equipped with a new speedometer. Representatives of the American brand themselves separately noted the hood with two air intakes, which is part of the classic design of the Dodge.
