Division “Q”, which is Aston Martin’s court atelier and workshop for the implementation, sometimes, of the most insane customer ideas, created a unique modification of Citicar Cygnet: it was equipped with a 430-horsepower full-size V8 engine from Vantage S.
As recognized by the engineers working on the project, it was important to use every inch of space, as the body was taken from the production car. It was important to keep the model recognizable, but to do without the elements that give out the exclusivity of this Cygnet, it was not possible: due to cardinal changes in the design had to make of composite materials extended wheel arches, build a safety cage, install a new exhaust system.
The Aston Martin V8 Cygnet was equipped with a 436-horsepower 4.7-liter engine from the Vantage S. The city car coupe also received a stretcher, suspension and seven-speed robotic transmission Sportshift II. The ratio of power to mass is thus about 317 hp per ton.
In the acceleration exercise from place to 96 km / h, the exclusive version of the city car shows a result of 4.2 seconds. Recall, the standard modification of the car took 11. 8 seconds. The maximum speed of the V8 Cygnet is 274 km / h, which exceeds the indicators of the stock “baby” by almost 97 km / h.
Exclusive Aston Martin V8 Cygnet stop the 19-inch “forging” brakes with 380 mm discs in front and 330 mm behind.
Recall that the production of Aston Martin Cygnet was completed in 2013. The car was available with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with a return of 98 hp. It is interesting that in the Aston Martin arsenal there are cars that do not have an engine at all.
