The company Volkswagen revealed details about the smallest crossover in the line and published photos of the driving prototype. Subcompact T-Cross will debut in the fall, will receive five versions and sliding seats of the second row.
In Europe Volkswagen T-Cross will become the fifth all-road model of the brand. The range of crossover engines will consist of three-cylinder units with a volume of 1.0 liters (95 and 115 hp), a 1.5-liter TSI engine (150 hp) and a 1.6-liter diesel engine (95 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque). Gearboxes – five- and six-speed manual, and also robotic transmission with two clutches.
The Volkswagen T-Cross will include 18-inch wheels, a digital dashboard, a multimedia system with an 8-inch display, wireless charging for smartphones, four USB ports and a 300-watt Beats audio system.
The volume of the luggage compartment of a compact crossover will be 455 liters. With the rear seats folded, it will increase to 1281 liters. In this case, the rear seats of the seat are sliding: to increase the space in the trunk, they can be moved forward by 15 centimeters.
Earlier Volkswagen showed a sketch of T-Cross. The modular platform MQB, similar to the one used for the construction of the new Polo, will form the basis of the SUV, and stylistically it will repeat the latest models: Arteon and Touareg.
The main competitors of the Volkswagen T-Cross will be Nissan Juke, Citroen C4 Aircross and Peugeot 2008.
