This made him the most expensive motorcycle ever gone under the hammer. In total from 1948 to 1952 the company from Hertfordshire released thirty copies of Black Lightning.
Vincent Black Lightning is built on the basis of another successful model – Black Shadow, but it was lighter (163 kilograms to 208) and more powerful than it (the engine output increased from 56 to 71 horsepower).
In the 50’s, he was able to overtake the fastest production car of that time – the Jaguar XJ120, overclocking over 196 kilometers per hour. In addition, on the same model, a speed record was set in Bonneville. Sold motorcycle is known for the fact that on it in 1953, racer Jack Eret set a new Australian speed record – 228 kilometers per hour.
In 2016, the British office of the store Prop Store put up for auction a motorcycle that participated in the filming of the films “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight: The Renaissance of the Legend”.
