The company Volkswagen has already put on road tests a restyling version of the popular Passat sedan. The model will have to take the place of the 2019 model year, and can debut in the fall.
Photo-spies again reveal the plans of the concerns. This time, photos of a camouflaged prototype appeared on the network. The model will certainly become a restyling version of the Volkswagen Passat 2019 model year. Despite the company’s attempt to hide the details of the new design, the photos have the opportunity to review some details.
In March, in the framework of the Geneva Motor Show, the head of Volkswagen, Herbert Diss, said that an updated version of the Passat will be ready soon, and now we are convinced of the veracity of his words.
The photos show a car on which only the front and rear parts are hidden. This indicates that the novelty will not receive significant changes in the design, and we will be able to see a classic restyling with an updated grille, optics and bumpers.
Unfortunately there are no photos of the interior yet. However, serious changes are not yet foreseen. And even the appearance of an information and entertainment system like a Volkswagen Tuareg crossover with a 15-inch display does not have to wait. It is likely that only some decorative elements will change.
It can be assumed that engineers will work on improving noise insulation, may slightly reconfigure the suspension, steering and braking system. There is also the possibility that new engines will enter the engine line, but there is no official confirmation of this.
The date of the premiere has not yet been revealed, but there is a high probability that the novelty will be shown in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, or in November at the Paris Salon. The cost is naturally unknown. But now a car in Russia can be purchased from 1,400,000 rubles. Sales will probably begin only in 2019.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen reported the forced shutdown of some models due to the introduction of a new environmental testing standard for cars – WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure).
