The company Subaru this year will introduce a new hybrid with the ability to recharge batteries from household electricity. At the same time, the model will use aggregates and technologies from Toyota Prius Prime. This is reported by Automotive News with reference to Takeshi Tachimori, the head of the unit responsible for the technical filling of cars.
On the basis of which model the hybrid will be built, the top manager Subaru did not specify. Tachimori only added that the car is planned to be assembled in Japan and delivered to the US market, especially to those states that accepted the California’s proposed program for the development and regulation of environmental transport.
In Subaru also added that they used the technologies of Toyota to the maximum. Nevertheless, some modifications were made to the power plant. For example, it was adapted to the longitudinally installed opposition of the brand, whereas the Prius has an internal combustion engine transversely.
The Toyota Prius Prime is equipped with a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 97 forces, an electric motor with a power of 73, and a block of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 8.8 kilowatt-hours.
Electricity “Prius” can travel 35 kilometers. The maximum power reserve is 960 kilometers. Charging the batteries takes about five and a half hours.
