The prototype of the BMW 8-Series M850i ​​crashed fatal for a passenger

The road to the debut of one of the most anticipated novelties of the automotive world – the BMW 8-Series M850i ​​- was marked by tragic events. The 53-year-old passenger died after the prototype of the car lost control and drove off the road.

In the evening (approximately at 22:00) on June 9 in Germany there was a fatal accident. In the tragic event prototype of a car not yet officially presented on the market participated. So, 4 days before the official debut, one of the prototypes of the BMW 8-Series in the top configuration M-Perfomance – M850i ​​was broken.

The accident occurred near Bodenkirchen in the Landshut district of Bavaria, when a 37-year-old driver of a passenger vehicle lost control and got off the road.

According to the preliminary police investigation, the driver dispersed quite strongly, and could not keep the car on the road during the turn. Before stopping, the prototype of the 8th series collided with several trees. After an accident, the driver was able to leave the car on his own, but the passenger remained clamped in the car.

Rescue team from the fire service Bodenkirchen and Eggkofen immediately left by signal. Emergency services had to come with special equipment (hydraulic press and saws for metal) that would free the injured person. Unfortunately, she (was a friend of the driver’s mother) suffered significant head injuries and died at the scene.

At the moment, local authorities are conducting an investigation, which should show the cause of the incident. In the video, you can also see what happened to the car, and see the track from the tire on the roadside, which can confirm information about the fault of the driver, who could not cope with the control at high speed.

It is also noted that all airbags have worked. However, the collision was so strong as a result of the high speed that the blow resulted in death.
