The next Mercedes-AMG A45 scheduled to go on sale in early 2019. Mercedes planning to get a further boost in performance in new model. It’s a part of a plan to enhance the new AMG A45 competitiveness against rivals such as Audi RS3 and BMW M2. The next-generation model will have an all-new four-cylinder engine that develops more than 400 bhp (298 kW) said Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers.
The facelifted A45 AMG will be offered in two variants: a standard variant with 381 bhp and a higher performance S model with as much as 400 bhp. It’s also considerably greater than the 362bhp of the turbocharged 2.5-litre RS3 and 365bhp of the turbocharged 3.0-litre M2. So, Mercedes will again have the most powerful model in his segment.
With a new software map and unique ratios, along with tweaks to the four-wheel drive system and electric differential, a 0-62mph time of less than 4.0sec is regarded as a key engineering goal for the new A45.
