It is assumed that the charged modification of the new generation SUV will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Marketing manager of Mercedes-Benz G-Class Ian James told Automotive News that AMG versions based on Gelendvagen of the new generation had to wait a short time, because in the previous generation they were “wildly popular”.
In addition to visual differences in exterior and interior, modified chassis and reinforced brakes, the new Mercedes-AMG G 63 will receive the already well-known four-liter turbocharged V8 engine, which under the hood of the new E 63S develops 612 hp. and 850 Nm of torque.
As expected, G-Class will receive other AMG-versions. True, the G 65 with the V12 engine, most likely, will not return, but the G 63S may appear in the lineup. The appearance of the AMG G 53 version is also not excluded, after the models E-Class Coupe, E-Class Convertible and CLS of this series were presented at the Detroit Motor Show.
By the way, in the same place in Detroit the public premiere of Mercedes-Benz G-Class of the new generation was held. The launch of European off-road vehicle sales is scheduled for this summer.
