KIA SP first appeared in New Delhi at the event Auto Expo 2018, and now it is shown at the launched South Korean motor show. It was also officially announced that the available SUV will go on sale in the second half of 2019.
Mass production of an affordable model will be established at the KIA plant in Anantapur (India, Andhra Pradesh). Now this plant is under construction. The novelty will be based on the improved platform Hyundai Creta.
For the brand fans on the site, a survey was conducted, which would help the company choose the name for the novelty. Of all the options offered, the majority voted for the name Tusker. So, most likely, the serial version will receive it.
KIA SP got the LED lights, and the rear lights are connected by a chrome strip. Off-road body kit is made of unpainted plastic, in addition mounted extensions of wheel arches, the grille has a firm design.
From the interior options the car boasts a large display installed on the front panel. Underneath it there is a digital instrument panel and a touchscreen of the infotainment system.
It is assumed that the serial version of the crossover will be offered with two engines. The first is a 1.4-liter turbo diesel engine with a capacity of 90 hp, the second is a 1.6-liter atmospheric power unit generating a power of 123 hp. Both will be combined with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A mass car will only be produced with a front-wheel drive.
