The new charged Ford Focus ST will receive the engine from the hardcore RS

Charged Ford Focus ST next generation will be equipped with a modernized 2.3-liter turbo engine from the current RS modification. In addition, the model will be offered only with a six-speed manual transmission. This is reported by Autocar.

The yield of the EcoBoost engine will be about 254 horsepower. From the three-cylinder unit with a volume of 1.5 liters, which is installed on the Fiesta ST, it was decided to abandon due to the fact that in the forced mode it will be impossible to ensure its reliability.

According to preliminary information, the new Focus ST will become sharper and more interesting in management. The debut of the hot-hatchet is scheduled for early 2019. Sales in major markets will begin in the summer of the same year.

The public debut of Ford Focus new, the fourth generation took place at the beginning of the month. It became the first model built on the C2 platform with a 20% increase in torsional stiffness. The range of engines included units ranging in volume from 1.0 to 2.0 liters, giving out 85 to 182 forces.

In addition to the usual version, Focus is first introduced in the all-road Active modification and the luxurious Vignale. Assembly of the novelty will be arranged at the German Ford plant in Zarluy.
