The Japanese turned the Mazda MX-5 into a classic Corvette

The Japanese company Mitsuoka, best known for sports car Orochi, introduced the limited edition Rock Star, released in honor of the 50th anniversary of the brand. The sports car is built on Mazda MX-5 units and designed in the style of the classic Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

Dvuhdverka equipped with a 1.5-liter engine SKYACTIV-G, which produces 132 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque. The unit can be combined with a six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed automatic transmission. The original Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was equipped with a 5.4-liter atmospheric V8, giving out 360 power and 488 Nm of torque. He could accelerate to the 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds.

The Mitsuoka Rock Star color palette consists of shades named after American cities and one state: Los Angeles Blue, Chicago Red, New York Black, Cisco Orange, Washington White and Arizona Yellow. The list of options for the sports car includes a colored soft roof, a white edging of the windshield, a color finish on the upper part of the doors and sports leather seats with integrated head restraints.

The most famous Mitsuoka model – the Orochi sportcar – was produced from 2006 to 2014. The model was equipped with a 3.3-liter V6 with a capacity of 233 horsepower and 328 Nm of torque. From zero to one hundred kilometers per hour, Orochi can accelerate in eight seconds exactly. The maximum speed is 222 kilometers per hour.
