The Mazda company announced its premiere for the Geneva Motor Show. The exhibition opens in March 2018.
At the motor show will be the world debut of updated wagon Mazda6. Also in Geneva will be the premiere of a fresh European version of the Mazda6 in the body of the sedan. Recall that while only the American version of the Mazda6 four-door sedan is presented (in the US, the wagon is not sold), this model was shown last fall.
Judging by the photos that the manufacturer has distributed, the European updated Mazda6 will not practically differ from the American version, except that there was a plate for the number in front. Refreshed Mazda6 got new bumpers and a radiator grille, modernized headlights. In the cabin – a different front panel, the other “assembly” and the control unit climate control. In top-end suites, interior decoration uses “exclusive materials” – for example, Japanese white walnut, used to create musical instruments and pieces of furniture.
In addition, the noise insulation was improved, the suspension was modernized. “The new settings provide greater smoothness and reduced noise. The steering rack is now rigidly fixed to the chassis, which provides greater responsiveness and better feedback, “Mazda said earlier.
The list of equipment “six” included active cruise control, which can now brake to a complete stop and independently resume traffic when the car is ahead of him from the spot. Another model for the model is the “latest” round-trip system.
There is no information on the changes in the motor scale. Pre-reform sedan and Mazda6 station wagon in Europe are available with petrol engines 2.0 (145 or 165 hp) and 2.5 (192 hp), diesel 2.2 (150 or 175 hp), transmissions – six-speed manual or automatic transmision. The sedan is offered only with a front-wheel drive, the wagon still has a 4WD version.
By the way, the American Mazda6 after restyling got a petrol turbo engine 2.5, which is in the arsenal of the US-designed crossover Mazda CX-9. On the ninety second gasoline, the engine produces 230 hp, in the ninety-eighth – 253 hp. It is not yet known whether a turbo engine will appear in the European version.
In the States, sales of the refreshed Mazda6 will begin in the spring, before the European Mazda dealers the model is likely to get later this year.
Meanwhile in Geneva Mazda will show a couple of new products – the concept sedan Vision Coupe and hatch Kai. The last prototype is a harbinger of the next Mazda3.
Earlier we reported that Mazda wants to use a rotary engine in a unique way.
