For the first time, photographers can to shoot a sports version of the crossover Skoda Kodiaq during tests at the Nurburgring. Despite the camouflage, the belonging of the modification can be defined exactly: Skoda specially exhibited the plates “Kodiaq RS”. The picture was published by the British magazine Autocar.
The British edition writes that the “charged” Kodiaq will be presented next fall. Early appearance of such a car was confirmed to the journalists and head of Skoda Bernhard Meyer. According to sources Autocar, under the hood will be a two-liter diesel with two turbines with a capacity of about 240 horsepower, which is already used on the crossover Volkswagen Tiguan.
Volkswagen Tiguan with such a motor can accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.5 seconds and develop a speed of up to 220 kilometers per hour.
Perhaps the same motor will then be put on the Octavia RS model. Now it is offered in Europe with a petrol turbo engine 2.0 with a capacity of 245 horsepower and a diesel engine of the same capacity with 184 horsepower.
According to the head of Skoda Bernhard Meyer, the crossover Kodiaq RS will be presented this year. It will become the second model of Skoda with RS prefix. The compact hatchback Fabia RS was withdrawn from production with a generational change in 2014 due to low demand.
Seven-seat crossover Skoda Kodiaq presented a year and a half ago. It is built on the MQB platform and in general is technically similar to the second generation Volkswagen Tiguan crossover. In this case it is larger: along the length of the wheelbase (2791 millimeters) it coincides with the long-wheelbase Tiguan Allspace.
