The first model of the revived brand De Tomaso debuts at the Goodwood Festival of SpeedMay 16, 2019
The presentation of the novelty, which is still known under the name “Project P”, will take place on July 4th. It is timed to the 60th anniversary of the Italian manufacturer specializing in the release of sports cars.
Restored brand De Tomaso will present a new car in July. Recall, about five years ago, the Chinese company Consolidated Ideal TeamVenture bought the rights to this Italian brand. All these years, the painstaking and time-consuming work to return the automaker to the system did not stop. The result of this process is the new model Project P, whose release will take place on July 4 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. No specific information about the future debutant yet.
The fact that Project P became a reality was learned by the media only this year, when two camouflaged cars drove through the streets of Geneva during the international automobile exhibition here. It is known that these were the Apollo Intensa Emozione and the new generation of the legendary De Tomaso Pantera. Recall the last copy of this sports car was transferred to the customer 27 years ago.
Whether the new model will be a restaurant or a modern version of an Italian sports car – we can only guess. On spy shots caught in the Network, despite the dense camouflage, there is a good resemblance of the novelty with the original Italian sport acre. At the same time, Western media do not exclude that the original Pantera of the 1970s was “caught” in the lens of photo spies.
De Tomaso company was founded in 1959 in the Italian city of Modena by Argentinean race driver Alejandro de Tomaso. Production of cars this brand stopped in the 2004th.
