Company Owl, founded by a former employee of Apple, who worked on the iPod and iPhone, Andy Hodge introduced a smart video recorder Car Cam. The device is equipped with a speakerphone system, through which through the application on the smartphone you can connect with people in the car.
The gadget is equipped with two cameras: one of them is directed towards the road, and the other is in the car’s interior. Recording is continuous. The device can save video to cloud services.
The DVR works continuously, so it can recognize the penetration into the machine or strikes. In any incident, the device will send a notification to the smartphone of the car owner. In this case, the application can be installed only on gadgets with the operating system iOS 11 or later.
Continuous operation of Owl Car Cam is provided by connecting the gadget to the diagnostic OBD port. It is necessary to extend the cord to the device. Cable creators of the recorder are offered to hide between the plastic of the center console and the windshield.
Both cameras in the Car Cam are 4 megapixel and with a fixed focal length. The video is recorded at 30 frames per second.
