The company Tesla has published a new teaser image of a compact crossover called Model Y. The premiere of the new electric car will take place in March next year. Serial production of the car will not begin until 2020. The assembly of Model Y will be installed at the new plant of the American company, InsideEVs reports.
According to the publication, prices for the base version of the crossover will start at $ 45,000. According to preliminary data, Tesla Model Y will be equipped with two motors (one on the front and rear axles) and will be offered with battery packs of different capacities.
Some technical and stylistic solutions will be borrowed from the older Model X model. For example, a compact crossover will receive branded rear doors, which the company calls “wings of a falcon”.
In the next few years, Tesla, in addition to a compact crossover, is planning to launch the Semi electric truck and the new generation Roadster supercar. Plus, the automaker is considering the possibility of a pickup truck and minivan.
