Smart introduced the electric car Forease without a roof and side windowsOctober 2, 2018
By its 20th anniversary, Smart Company presented a new double concept in Paris called Forease. Electric convertible built on the basis of the EQ Fortwo Cabrio. In addition to the car’s roof, there are no side windows. The company believes that in this way the driver will be able to “enjoy the free ride”.
The design of the unusual prototype received the features of Crossblade (2001) and Forspeed (2011). The car is equipped with LED optics, diffuser, spoiler, 18-inch wheels, hidden door handles, diffuser and three-dimensional lights. The interior of the prototype has two additional displays in place of air vents and an unusual steering wheel resembling an aircraft steering wheel.
Forease is equipped with an electric motor with 82 hp. The power reserve of the concept is about 160 km. To 100 km/h the car can accelerate in 11.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 130 km / h.
The serial version of Forease is not planned. However, it became known earlier that after 2020 Smart company will become a fully electric brand. In two years, the German mark will only sell cars equipped with green engines. At the moment, Smart has already stopped selling gasoline-powered cars in North America.
Concern Daimler intends to invest in the company Smart in the French Ambach 500 million euros. This amount will go to the modernization of the plant, where, among other things, they will start the production of a compact electric vehicle Mercedes-Benz EQA.
