A serial production of the Skoda Scala hatchback started at the company in Mlada Boleslav, which became the first model of the Czech brand, built on the Volkswagen concern’s MQB-A0 modular platform
Skoda has announced the start of mass production of the new Scala hatchback. The model became on the conveyor of the enterprise in Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic, the press service of the automaker reports.
Recall, Skoda Scala made its debut in early December 2018 at a special event in Tel Aviv. The novelty is the first model of the Czech brand, which is based on the modular chassis MQB-A0 of the Volkswagen concern. The overall length of the car was 4362 mm, width – 1793 mm, and height – 1471 mm. The size of the wheelbase is 2649 millimeters.
Skoda Scala will be available with a fully digital 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit dashboard. The company claims that this is the largest virtual dashboard among cars of the compact segment.
Plus, the hatchback will be available next-generation information and entertainment complex with a 9.2-inch touch screen. Scala was the first model of the Czech brand, for which software updates or, for example, new maps of the navigator will be automatically downloaded via the cloud service.
The list of available electronic “assistants” included adaptive cruise control, a system for tracking the “dead” zones, assistance when leaving the parking lot in reverse, as well as an assistant to respect the number of movements.
The base engine is a 95-horsepower gasoline three-cylinder engine with a displacement of one liter, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. In addition, an engine of a similar capacity is available, issuing 115 forces. The top-end unit is a 1.5-liter 150-horsepower turbo four.
Diesel line is represented by a 1.6-liter engine, issuing 115 liters. with. and 250 Nm of torque. All engines (except the base one) are capable of working with a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-range robotized gearbox with two clutches. Also, the hatchback will be offered with a 90-hp 1.0-liter G-TEC engine, which can consume both liquefied natural gas and gasoline. Transmission – six-speed manual.
