In addition, a more compact crossover will appear in the brand’s lineup.
In the Rolls-Royce lineup may appear hybrid SUV. Hybrid version of Cullinan is considered by the brand’s management as one of the options for expanding the model range, along with the release of a more compact model.
Sources of the publication Top Gear in Rolls-Royce report that the Cullinan hybrid will be more powerful than its gasoline relative, equipped with a 6.75-liter biturbo V12 engine (571 power and 850 Nm of torque). There are no technical details yet, so it’s unclear whether Rolls-Royce will borrow the hybrid system from the BMW parent or develop its own. It is also unknown whether this is a conventional or plug-in hybrid.
As for the appearance of a small crossover in the Rolls-Royce model range, this information goes against the statement made by the head of the British brand Torsten Muller-Otvos. According to him, now Rolls-Royce has no plans for further expansion of the model range.
The first Rolls-Royce crossover debuted in May. The model is based on the so-called “Architecture of luxury” – a modular platform already used on the Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII sedan. Especially for Cullinan it was modernized: a new front suspension was developed on double wishbones, the chassis was supplemented with an all-wheel drive system and steering wheels. Cullinan was equipped with a cupboard for drinks, a refrigerator, a glass partition separating the trunk from the passenger compartment, and swivel chairs with a cocktail table.
