Revived Brabham introduced a 710-strong carbon supercar

The company Brabham Automotive, whose CEO is the son of three-time champion of Formula 1 Jack Brabham, introduced its first model. She became the carbon track super car BT62.

The length of the novelty was 4460 mm, width 1950 mm, and the wheelbase size is 2695 mm. The weight of the car, which received the body panels from CFRP, was 972 kg, and the weight distribution along the axes – 49:51 in favor of the rear axle. The adjustable wing can generate up to 1,200 kg of downforce.

The supercar was equipped with a 5.4-liter atmospheric V8 engine developing 710 hp and 666 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed sequential transmission with the ability to shift gears using steering paddles.

The coupe received a double-link suspension, adjustable anti-roll bars and shock absorbers Ohlins, as well as six-piston carbon-ceramic brakes Brembo.

In total, Brabham Automotive will produce 70 such cars. The first batch will consist of 35 pieces, symbolizing the same number of races won by Jack Brabham in Formula-1. The cost of BT62 will be about one million pounds sterling.

The original company Brabham was founded in 1960 by two Australians: race driver Jack Brabham and designer Ron Toranac. In total, the team built about 700 racing cars, which, among other things, won the Formula-2 and Formula-3 championships, as well as the “500 miles of Indianapolis” marathon.
