Restyling Jeep Cherokee got a new engineJanuary 16, 2018
In Detroit, the world premiere of a refreshed Jeep crossover took place.
After restyling, Cherokee lost his criticized complex head optics – now the SUV receive a new LED headlights and fog lights. Also, the model changed the hood, bumpers and rear lights, another radiator grille. The rear number moved to the luggage compartment door.
The Cherokee’s interior of the 2019 model year has not changed much, only the side deflectors of the airflow have been updated, plus, the multimedia system’s touchscreen now frames the glossy black plastic with chrome trim.
In the US, the crossover will be offered with a new petrol four-cylinder turbo engine 2.0 with a power of 270 hp. The same engine is in the lineup of the Jeep Wrangler of the latest generation. True, for the SUV a “soft” hybrid system is provided (the motor-generator assists the “turbo-quater” when starting), and Cherokee such option is not available. Also Cherokee is equipped with gasoline engines 2.4 Tigershark (180 hp) and V6 3.2 Pentastar (271 hp). All engines are paired with an upgraded nine-band “automatic”, the drive – front or full.
The list of equipment new items include: eight airbags, a multimedia complex Uconnect with a touch screen diagonal of 7 “or 8.4” and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control, parking assistance systems, monitoring “blind” zones and warnings about leaving the occupied band.
Up to American dealers, the restyling Jeep Cherokee will get in the first quarter of this year.
