Presented by the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato – off-road version of the supercarJune 5, 2019
At the moment, Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato is a one-time concept and is unlikely to go into production. At the heart of the Huracán Sterrato is the Huracán model in a more powerful version of the Evo with a 640-horsepower engine.
Designers of the Italian automaker presented the possibility of creating a model with pronounced off-road performance. Today, the company has presented a unique off-road concept called the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato. Wheel arches and a raised suspension give the Lamborghini concept a proper off-road style.
At the heart of the Huracán Sterrato is the Huracán model in a more powerful version of the Evo, under the hood of which there is a 640-strong atmospheric 5.2-liter V10. Also, the concept of the Evo also included the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata complex, which is essentially the “brain of a supercar.” LDVI controls several Sterrato car systems, such as four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, torque control, etc. All these calculations are used to predict the driver’s next actions.
It is reported that especially for the off-road concept, Lamborghini engineers calibrated LDVI for off-road driving, improved rear-wheel drive behavior, as well as improved traction and acceleration.
The Italian automaker also updated the Sterrato hardware. Engineers increased the ground clearance by 47 mm, improving the angles of entry and exit. The car boasts an expanded front and rear track of 30 mm, as well as 20-inch wheels. Below there is a protective plate that acts as a diffuser for additional protection of the bottom. Aluminum amplifiers that are protected by an aluminum plate are embedded in the frame at the front. Other protective features include aluminum-reinforced side skirts, a protective composite body structure around the engine and air intakes, and carbon fiber and elastomer mudguards.
