Presented a render of the new crossover Mercedes-Benz GLBJanuary 12, 2019
Judging by the “spy” photos of the German novelty, which captured the prototype of the crossover on its tests, Mercedes-Benz GLB will try to revive the spirit of the now-non-existent GLK model. The presentation of the car is expected this summer.
Rumor has it that the German company Mercedes-Benz this summer will introduce a brand new member of the compact crossover family. This is a square GLB-Class, which is built on the platform of the current A-class. Distinctive features of the car can be called its square shape and increased ground clearance relative to other compact crossovers.
We have seen more than one prototype of the novelty during their road tests, and now it’s time to finally look at the final version of the crossover.
No, not yet, official sources have not published photos of Mercedes-Benz GLB. So far, one has to be content with computer visualizations from independent artists.
Looking at the published render, you can see that the car on it somehow reminds us of the GLK-class crossover, which preceded the GLC-class. It was a square compact crossover with an attractive appearance, looking a little more prepared for off-road adventures than modern similar models of Mercedes.
In addition to a more brutal appearance, the new GLB will be a typical member of the A-Class / B-Class family. It will be built on the MFA2 platform, which means that it will have a lot in common with the rest of the compact car brand line. For example, much of the interior will be inherited from the B-Class, including the two 10.25-inch digital screens of the MBUX infotainment system.
Under the hood of Mercedes-Benz GLB crossovers, we can see a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, 188 hp, as well as a 1.4-liter turbo unit and a 1.5-liter diesel engine from Renault-Nissan.
