The German tuning studio AC Schnitzer has already worked with the new BMW M5. Thanks to the increase in power to 700 hp and sports suspension, the lap time on the Sachsenring circuit decreased by four seconds.
Specialists of AC Schnitzer increased the power of the 600-hp turbo eight 4.4 to 700 horsepower. Torque increased from 750 to 850 Nm.
The sports sedan received in the AC Schnitzer boxes a modified suspension – more rigid, with reduced ground clearance. In addition, slightly improved aerodynamics: on the boot lid appeared a small anti-wings, under the front bumper – a splitter. In addition, the BMW M5 received the original AC Schnitzer wheels and … enlarged gearshift paddles.
The testing was tested in the case by the famous German racer Jörg Müller – the factory pilot of BMW. Circle length of 3.67 kilometers at the Sachsenring circuit at the wheel of the tuning machine, he passed for 3 minutes and 31.7 seconds. Thus Mueller improved his own time, shown on a standard BMW M5 for four seconds.
A more powerful version of the M5 sedan is also from BMW itself. At M5 in the version of the competition, the output was brought to 625 horsepower, and a number of modifications of the suspension were carried out.
