During the Rennsport Reunion festival in California, Porsche presented a modern version of the legendary 935/78 “Moby Dick.” The novelty was built on units of the 911 GT2 RS with a body made of fiber reinforced plastic and equipped with exterior parts from the 919 Hybrid and 911 GT3 R. A total of 77 such cars will be assembled.

The length of the new Porsche 935 is 4870 mm, width – 2030 mm. The sports car is 321 millimeters longer and 150 wider than the original 911 GT2 RS. Most of the aerodynamic elements of the engineers Porsche borrowed from modern or classic racing cars. So, ventilation slots on the arches are the same as on the client 911 GT3 R.

The wheels of the 935th with red aerodynamic caps are made in the style of the original 935/78, the LED brake lights are taken from the “Le Mans 24 Hour” 919 Hybrid. Even the side mirrors here are from the existing race car – a 911 RSR, and a titanium exhaust such as on the Porsche 908. Sporcar interior elements are also taken from other cars: 911 GT3 R and 917.

The 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer from the 911 GT2 RS drives the Porsche 935 movement. The impact of the unit is 700 forces and 750 Nm of torque. The box is a seven-speed robot PDK. The 935th is equipped with a Porsche Stability Management stabilization system, racing brakes with separate circuits, 380 mm front discs and 355 mm rear wheels, a limited-slip differential, a safety cage, and six-point belts.

The price of the Porsche 935 is 701,948 euros excluding taxes. The first deliveries are scheduled for June 2019.
