The German brand introduced the concept car 911 Speedster with expanded use of carbon in the design and a six-cylinder 500-horsepower engine
The company Porsche introduced a concept car called the 911 Speedster with a lightweight design and a 500-horsepower engine. The novelty was released with the honor of the 70th anniversary of the moment when the German brand started to produce sports cars.
The prototype is built on the chassis of the supercar 911 GT3. It is equipped with a four-liter in-line six-cylinder engine, developing more than 500 hp. and capable of unwinding up to 9000 rpm. The unit works in conjunction with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The body of the concept car is based on the cabriolet 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, but the wings, the cover of the engine compartment and the front luggage compartment are made of carbon fiber. Frames of seats are also made of composite material. In additional, for the sake of reducing the mass, developers abandoned the satellite navigator, audio system and air conditioning system.
The coloring of the car, as well as some forms of its bodywork, give a reference to the 1950s racing cars of the Porsche. The car will be part of the exposition of the museum of the German brand in Zuffenhausen. It is possible that such a sports car will be launched in small-scale production.
