Porsche became a co-owner of hypercars manufacturer RimasJune 20, 2018
The company Porsche bought ten percent of the shares of the Croatian manufacturer of electric supercars Rimac Automobili. The German brand plans to work together with the firm on its own models with environmentally friendly power units.
Rimac began working on its first model – Concept One – in 2009. Two years later, the car, equipped with a 1088-strong electric power unit, was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The circulation of the model, estimated at a minimum of one million euros, was limited to 88 copies.
In March 2018, the second model of the brand, C_Two, debuted. Hypercar received a 1914-strong power plant with a set of batteries with a capacity of 120 kilowatt hours, active aerodynamics and even a virtual driving instructor. From zero to 96 kilometers per hour, this machine can accelerate in 1.84 seconds. Power reserve – 650 kilometers.
In addition to supercars, Rimac under the brand Greyp Bikes makes electromotorcycles, and also develops electric power plants for other manufacturers, charging systems and batteries.
In the “Porsche” are now working on their first own electric car – Taycan. The model will be equipped with two electric motors with a total capacity of 600 forces and will be able to travel about 500 kilometers without recharging. The car will be able to dial “Hundred” in 3.5 seconds. The electric vehicle will be launched by 2020
