Opel announced the premiere of electric CorsaOctober 10, 2018
Opel has published a teaser video of the electric modification of the Corsa hatchback. According to the Twitter of the German brand, the car will premiere in 2020. Production of the machine will be arranged at the plant in Zaragoza (Spain).
It is expected that the novelty will be called eCorsa. Сorsa will be the fourth joint project of Opel and the French Groupe PSA, which includes Peugeot and Citroen. The standard version of the hatchback will debut in 2019.
Earlier, Opel announced a plan for its further development under the name PACE !, which provides for a return to profit by 2020, the unification of platforms and engines, as well as a massive transition to hybrid and electric power plants.
By 2024, Opel plans to become “the number one carmaker in Europe”. As part of this strategy, the Germans are going to create eco-modifications for each of their passenger models, as well as to increase funding for the development programs of hybrid, electric and hydrogen cars. By 2020, the Opel lineup will have at least four new green cars, including a hybrid modification of the Grandland X crossover and an electric Corsa.
