The online edition of SupraMKV published a scan of a Japanese magazine featuring the conceptual coupe Toyota Supra Racing – the forerunner of the serial version of the reborn supercar Supra. The public premiere of the novelty will be held in March in the framework of the Geneva Motor Show.
Judging by the picture, the appearance of Toyota Supra Racing is very close to the prototype FT-1, presented in 2014. In this case, the new concept will receive a racing body kit with a rear wing and deflectors on both edges of the front bumper. Plus, it will have a yellow head optics, racing wheels with tires Bridgestone and understated ground clearance.
The civil version of the revived Toyota Supra will share the chassis with the third-generation BMW Z4 roadster – German and Japanese experts are jointly developing a chassis for the new generation sports car from 2014 in the framework of the cooperation agreement.
According to preliminary data, depending on the market, the engine line will include two-liter turbo-suits with a capacity of 200 and 250 hp, as well as a 340-hp three-liter in-line six-cylinder. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic.
In addition, the sports car may have a modification with a hybrid power plant, created on the basis of a two-liter unit, which will work in tandem with two electric motors – one on each axis.
