At the Chicago Auto Show debuted a new generation sedan

Subaru has introduced a new generation Legacy sedan. The premiere of the car, which the manufacturer calls the most advanced and economical Legacy for the entire 30-year history of the brand, was held at the Motor Show in Chicago.

The model is built on a global modular platform, which in the “stretched” version is used for the eight-seat Ascent crossover. From him the sedan also got a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. It develops 260 horsepower and 376 Nm of torque. The unit is paired with a variator and symmetrical all-wheel drive.

From zero to 96 kilometers per hour sedan with such a power plant accelerates in 6.1 seconds. The average fuel consumption in the urban cycle is 9.8 liters per hundred kilometers, and on the highway – 7.3 liters.

As they say in the company, in the construction of the new Legacy compared to its predecessor, 13 percent more ultra-high-strength steel is used and 371 percent more than industrial glue. Torsional stiffness increased by 70 percent, bending by 100 percent, and body elements now absorb 40 percent more energy in a collision both from the front and from the side.
