New information about the new Chevrolet Corvette C8March 23, 2019
According to many editions, the completely new generation of the Corvette C8 sports coupe will be equipped with an 8-speed DCT robotic transmission.
A new generation of American sports coupe Chevrolet Corvette, which will be known under the internal index C8 will be officially presented this summer, and the first deliveries to customers will begin next year.
A couple of hours ago, an anonymous source published a photo, which, apparently, was made at a closed presentation of the new Corvette C8. Thanks to this data leakage, we can find out in which colors the long-awaited novelty will be offered. Apparently, the Corvette C8 will be in many ways similar to the current version of the C7 regarding some options.
Judging by the screenshots sent, the Corvette C8 will receive 12 body color options. The colors of Zeus Bronze and Rapid Blue are the most curious since they are not offered with the current Corvette C7.
As for the options available for the new Corvette C8, according to published data, the basic version of the model will receive the designation LT2, under the hood of which will be an 8-cylinder 6.2-liter engine with direct injection, variable timing and active fuel control.
Although the engine performance looks like a tribute to the current Corvette engine, the transmission will be clearly different. It is reported that the transmission will receive the code M1L, which means “8-speed automatic transmission with dual clutch.” This data confirms recent reports that a robotic DCT will be offered as a transmission.
