New BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe spotted by journalistsJanuary 2, 2019
There is a yellow sticker on the rearview mirror that reminds test drivers that 5 mph or 8 km / h must not be exceeded. It is expected that the premiere of the 4-door novelty (F44 index) will take place this year, and the serial production will presumably begin in June.
After the Bavarian automobile brand BMW introduced its new flagship crossover X7 – it happened at the end of last year, the company’s engineers decided that this was not the time to rest. A couple of minutes ago, we received “spy” photos of the 4-door coupe BMW 2-Series.
The new representative of the compact family of cars will definitely become a global model of the Bavarian automaker.
As can be seen from the published images, the heavily camouflaged prototype of the novelty was on an auto transporter. There is information that the car has already received a fully serial body. But still we could not fail to pay attention to the rivets that were in different parts of the body – they fix additional camouflage panels. Yes, there is a lot of camouflage, but in most cases it is just a film that fits tightly enough to the panels, so we can see the shape and proportions of the car. Foreign photo spies were also able to look under the car – you can see front-wheel drive without a visible driveshaft connected to the rear axle.
It is expected that the expensive version of the German news will receive a full drive xDrive, trim from BMW M Performance. This version, which can get the M235i index, can be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine. According to rumors, the engine will be used from the X2 M35i crossover. According to the latest information from our friends from the BMW Blog, all versions of the 4.5-meter car will be presented in the M Sport configuration with 18-inch wheels, stiff suspension settings, upgraded brakes and sports seats.
