The prototype Mercedes-Benz EQ in autumn 2016 at the Paris Motor Show. The concept car Generation EQ was equipped with two electric motors with a total output of 300 kW (408 hp) located on the front and rear axle. The crossover is capable of accelerating from place to 100 km / h in less than five seconds. Thus, the dynamic performance of the electric car is close to the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43. Thanks to a set of lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 70 kWh, the all-terrain vehicle can travel up to 500 kilometers without recharging.
At the same time, the first EQ-series electric car will be a compact EQA model, the production of which will start in French Ambach (Smart enterprise) in 2020. The harbinger of such a car made its debut in September 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. On each axis of the car, one electric motor was installed, which in total produced 268 hp and 499 Nm of torque.
The novelty will be designed to compete with the BMW i3. By 2025 the family of Mercedes-Benz electric cars will include up to 10 models. It is assumed that by this time, electric cars will account for 15% to 25% of all sales of the German brand.
