Mercedes-Benz is preparing AMG version E-Class Coupe

German automaker Mercedes-Benz is preparing the AMG version of the new car E-Class Coupe. Premiere of a novelty will be held in January 2017 at the Detroit auto show.

The car will be based on the design of a new generation sedan Mercedes-Benz E-Class. And not only the body but also the interior. Its distinguishing feature is the special equipment that will be unavailable for the other versions of the car. Coupe, among other things, will be equipped with touchpad instead selector multimedia system, which is implemented in the production of Mercedes since 2003. The car will receive other deflectors, new seats, and special devices, move the belt to the front seats.

At the beginning of sales of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe will be offered with three petrol and two diesel engines. The return of the petrol engine will be 183, 244 and 332 horsepower, while the motors on “heavy fuel” give out 194 and 253 horsepower. The least powerful engine will be combined with a six-speed manual gearbox, while all other units – with 9-gear “automatic”.

The top version of the new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe will be a modification of AMG E50 Coupe 4Matic. This version will be equipped with all-wheel drive system and a three-liter row “six” with a turbine with an electric drive. The return of such motor makes 407 horsepower.

Overall length of the coupe of the new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be 4827 millimeters, width – 1860 mm, and height – 1430 millimeters. Thus, the new product will be 141 millimeters long, 50 millimeters wider and 25 millimeters higher than the last generation of two-door C-Class.

It is expected that the first public demonstration of the new generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe will take place in January at the Detroit Auto Show. It is also assumed that the modification of convertible will be presented in spring 2017 at the Motor Show in Geneva.
