Masters from Affalterbach did not come up with a bicycle and put under the hood of a new Gelentwagen the four-liter supercharged V8 in their assets with two turbines with variable geometry of the impeller. He replaced the former giant 5.5-liter V8. The new engine produces 585 hp. and 850 Nm of torque, which is 14 forces and 90 Nm higher than the yield of the previous unit.
The inflatable eight-cylinder engine works in tandem with the 9-speed automatic transmission AMG Speedshift TCT and the AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive system, which now distributes traction between the axles in relation to 40:60 in favor of the rear.
The tandem of the new engine and transmission allows the car with a mass of almost 2.5 tons to accelerate from place to 100 km / h in 4.5 seconds, which is 0.9 seconds faster than the previous G 63. At the same time, the maximum speed of the off-road car is forcibly limited at 220 km / h.
However, customers can drop the electronic collar by ordering an optional sports package with an upgraded wheels, special sports tires and a maximum speed of 240 km / h on the SUV.
By default, the new Mercedes-AMG G 63 is equipped with adaptive suspension, sports exhaust system with options for sound settings, 22-inch alloy wheels and reinforced braking mechanisms.
The start of sales of SUV is planned for early summer. The cost of the car has not yet been announced for any market.
