Kodiaq on trends wave: the coupe-shaped crossover Skoda coming to Europe

Czech brand gives green light to new modification Kodiaq crossover with coupe-shaped styling and plans to sell it in the Old World.

Now the main task for Skoda – find capacities.

In questions of practicality and harmony of consumer properties Skoda cars can give odds very much, but in terms of emotion, they – not the brightest of the machine, of course, if it is not a sports version RS and powerful top versions. It is understood within the company and plan to make the brand more expressive. A sensuality and emotions now achieved a change in body silhouette.

Head of Skoda Bernhard Mayer in an interview with the edition Auto Express has told about the promising SUV. The first information about the coupe shaped Kodiaq (in the picture a hypothetical shape) date back to the spring. But then it was assumed that the car will be a sort of exclusive specially for the Chinese market, and now it plans to sell in Europe.

Convert Kodiaq in Hipsters will not be difficult. We believe that external differences are not limited to a sloping stern and the car will also have a modified front end, to distinguish it from its more massive sibling. Where daunting another problem – the manufacturer will have to figure out where it will be possible to produce novelty, as the brand companies are very loaded.

In recent years, sales of the brand in Europe is growing: in 2014, sold 571,658 vehicles, over the past year in the Old World has already sold 612,579 copies. Chinese volumes, of course, more modest, but there are sold of 280,000 vehicles in the region. According to some reports, modifying the assembly for the European market will not Chinese enterprise, but one of the plants in the region.

The crossover from the “national” brand may seem strange on the background of the premiums such as Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and the BMW X4, but its target audience will choose at least an attractive price and high practicality. Here are just a coupe-shaped Kodiaq have to wait – it is unlikely he will appear before the end of this decade.
