Test prototypes of German innovations were observed in German Stuttgart. So far, there is no data on which motors will be offered cars.

It has been almost three years since Porsche introduced the latest generation of the Cayman sports coupe, or rather, the 718 Cayman, and we all know that adding these three numbers meant losing two cylinders and getting a turbocharger instead. Stuttgart-based Porsche knew pretty much what it was doing — the decision to move from an aspirated powerplant to a forced-in-line row “four” on the Cayman Generation 982, was indeed the right decision.

Nevertheless, it seems that the “new” 718 Cayman should be updated very soon, as its test prototype was seen, “walking” through the streets of Stuttgart.

Judging from the published video, changes in the upcoming 718 Cayman will not be significant. The front of the car is almost the same. The prototype received a different set of wheels – and this is a very expected step.

In the back of the new product you can see the restyled diffuser – unlike the current version of the model, the dual exhaust pipes are now separated from each other. Well, that’s all – there are no more changes seen in the updated version of the model. It is expected that the same story will be with the motor range of the new Cayman.

On tests, a prototype of the more powerful 718 Cayman GT4 is also seen. The engine of the upcoming 718 Cayman GT4 is still not known. Some say it will be a modified version of the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated inline “six” from the generation 991 911 GT3, while others believe that there will be a 3.8-liter inline “six” under the hood.

Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the prototype electric Porsche Taycan sedan was spotted on tests.
