The fastest and most powerful representative of the Mini, ever created, passes finishing tests on the Nürburgring race track. The car will be shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of this year.
We waited patiently for the “hot” British hatchback to officially debut at some special event since the Mini introduced its eponymous concept in September 2017. The evil kid Mini JCW GP was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Since then, several prototypes of new products have been seen on the test, but it seems that we will have to wait a little more for the official premiere of this car.
This video, filmed on the Nürburgring race track, where the Mini team is currently located, presents two prototypes of the hot new product, which are reportedly undergoing a series of developmental tests before their premiere. Despite the typical yellow and black camouflage throughout the body, we can easily discern an aggressive kit John Cooper Works GP.
It seems that we are looking at the prototype of the long-awaited novelty, which boasts almost all the serial parts of the body .
The Mini JCW GP will be equipped with the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine as the Bavarian BMW X2 M35i crossover and the recently introduced M135i hatchback. This means that the power should be 302 horsepower (450 Nm of torque). The new JCW GP will have a front-wheel drive layout.
To preserve the exclusivity of their new model, the guys from Mini will release it with a limited edition of 3,000 copies. No pricing information yet.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the all-electric Mini was able to tow a Boeing cargo plane.
