Jeep showed the best design projects of their cars

The US department of product design for the FCA group chose the winners of the Drive for Design 2018 competition. The participants were asked to draw a design for the Jeep Wrangler in 2030.

FCA has been holding a competition for six years already, offering to create images of their cars. As already mentioned above, this year the students had to portray their vision of Jeep Wrangler SUV – what it will be in 2030. The winners were three teenagers from Miami, Florida and Buffalo, New York.

The first place was taken by Edward Crete from the Higher School of Design and Architecture, who presented the project Jeep Wrangler DJ. The “musical” prototype retained the style of the current Wrangler, translated into a futuristic design language of 2030. In front you can see a digital screen that replaced the radiator grille with seven ribs and a glowing orange band that runs all around the perimeter of the body.

In second place, Emily Bryson, representing the same educational institution, with a project called Jeep Wrangler Victus. The concept is intended exclusively for operation in winter conditions. His appearance in many respects repeats the style of the current model, but with the original design of the roof and additional compartments for storing things.

The third place is for Gino Sau from the high school of Canizius, who prepared a dynamic and streamlined Wrangler for the future. The creator abandoned the traditional box-like form of the car in favor of the cross-compartment, but retained the high ground clearance and trunk on the roof.

As a reward, the trio of winners were given the opportunity to visit the American design studio FCA and work with professional automotive designers, listen to a two-week design course at Lawrence Technological University, visit the EyesOn Design Automotive Design exhibition in Gross Point Shores, Michigan and receive a drawing board for Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16.

Recall, at the end of last year, the premiere of the new generation Jeep Wrangler. The model retained the frame structure, but it became lighter and got aluminum body elements.
